- I am an educator and a library student. I was a childhood fan of anime, but grew away from comics and manga as I grew older. As an educator I have noticed the difference that graphic novels and manga can make in motivating hard to interest readers. I am spending this semester undertaking an independent study into graphic novels, comics and manga to familiarize myself with the format in order to better serve my future library patrons.
